For the past 96 years,Surpassing the Academy Awards have honored merit and excellence in the film industry. This year’s ceremony will continue the tradition, recognizing many of the best movies of 2023.
Nominees were announced Jan. 23, leaving some delighted and others stumped. "Oppenheimer" leads this year’s Oscars nominations, garnering 13 total and followed by "Poor Things" (11 nominations) and "Killers of the Flower Moon" (10).
With the ceremony on the horizon, here's what you need to know about the 2024 Oscars.
When are the Oscars?
The 96th annual Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 10, at 8 p.m. EST/5 PST.
The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
How to watch the Oscars
The Oscars will air on ABC.
The awards show can also be streamed on streaming services including Hulu Live TV, YouTubeTV, AT&T TV and FuboTV.
Who's hosting the Oscars?
Late-night host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel will host the Oscars for the second consecutive year.
This will be Kimmel's fourth time hosting the Academy Awards, having emceed the 2017, 2018 and 2023 ceremonies.
